Pushya

Pushya is considered the most auspicious of all the nakshatras — the star of nourishment and spiritual flowering. Ruled by Saturn and presided over by Brihaspati, the teacher of the gods, it gives a profound capacity to care, to steady, and to lift others up.

Pushya — "the nourisher, that which flourishes" — is the eighth of the twenty-seven nakshatras, spanning Cancer 3°20′–16°40′. It is ruled by Saturn, which means a Moon placed here opens the life with a Saturn dasha period of 19 years.

02Character and meaning

Pushya natives are nurturers in the deepest sense. They feed people — with food, wisdom, care, security — and create around themselves a sense of safety and abundance. There is a gravity to them, a reliability; people instinctively turn to Pushya for support, and it is rarely refused.
